What an absolutely brilliant afternoon at our Jaws & Claws Sprint Showdown. Huge well done to every single swimmer who took part — from those racing for the first time, to those stepping up for new events, to our more experienced swimmers chasing fast times. The effort, positivity and team spirit on show was exactly what Makos is all about.
We also want to say a big thank you to Garstang Gators ASC for joining us and helping create such a great atmosphere. It was lovely to share the pool with you for a friendly, fun sprint meet.
A massive thank you as well to everyone who helped make the event happen behind the scenes. Meets like this don’t run without volunteers, and we’re really grateful to everyone who gave up their time — especially those who supported with the raffle, cakes, chaperoning, and our officials and timekeepers who kept everything running smoothly.
Special thanks also to Chris, Clare, Karen and Laila for their support on the day — it was hugely appreciated.
And now for the numbers… the stats are in and they’re incredible:
- 108 PBs
- 44 Golds
- 35 Silvers
- 22 Bronzes
