Put the value in perspective

More time to
make progress.

Performance offers 18 times the weekly pool time of the club’s 30-minute lesson example, for a little over twice the monthly fee.

Lessons and club training serve different stages. Readiness and a routine you can sustain come first.

How the comparison is calculated

Weekly hours × 52 ÷ 12 gives illustrative average monthly hours. The monthly fee is divided by that figure. This annualises a normal timetable; it does not promise 52 weeks of sessions. Holidays, closures and programme changes can reduce availability.

Development uses three core hours; invitation-only weekend sessions are excluded. Including one £54.95 annual charge gives £3.81 per available Development hour and £1.65 per available Performance hour. Registration is payable on joining and each September.

At two one-hour Development sessions a week, the monthly-fee equivalent is £5.19 per attended hour. At four 90-minute Performance sessions, it is £2.31. These examples exclude registration and use the same 52/12 illustration.

The £27.00 monthly price for a weekly 30-minute lesson is an example supplied by the club, not a current quotation from a named provider. Other providers’ prices and charges vary.

What is charged separately?

The annual registration charge is separate from monthly fees. International camps are optional and separately costed. Kit, clubwear and any other programme or event costs should be checked with the club before committing. View kit and clubwear guidance.

How much training should I attend?

Development athletes are encouraged to attend two to three sessions each week; Performance athletes are expected to attend four or more. Discuss school, work and other commitments with the coaches to find a sustainable routine.

Can I try the club before joining?

Yes. Request a swimming trial or water-polo taster and tell us about your experience. The club will confirm a suitable session and the arrangements before you attend.

What if cost is a barrier?

Please speak privately to the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary or another member of the Management Team about possible support. A Welfare Officer can help you start the conversation if you prefer. Find the right contact.
