Charitable purpose

What being a charity means for the club.

The club’s resources support its charitable purpose: helping people take part in healthy recreation through swimming, water polo and associated activities. These responsibilities shape how the club is run.

Public benefit

Swimming and water polo provide opportunities for participation, skill development and shared club life. The charity’s purpose is to support that public benefit.

Accountability

Trustees are responsible for the charity’s governance and resources. The Charity Commission record provides the official information about its purpose, governing arrangements and reporting position.

Reinvestment

Club income and fundraising support coaching, equipment, facilities and opportunities for athletes. Additional support can be directed towards an agreed project or resource.

Volunteer contribution

Volunteers give the time and practical skills that help training, competition and club events happen. Their contribution supports the experience athletes and families share.

Opportunity

If cost is making participation difficult, talk to us.

We are a charity and we are here to help people take part. If costs are getting in the way, speak privately to the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary or any other member of the Management Team so we can understand your circumstances and explore what support we can offer.

If you feel more comfortable speaking to a Welfare Officer first, they can help you start the conversation. The participation-support section on the Contact page explains who to speak to.
